ABOUT THE author

Ismail Omipidan

Ismail Omipidan is a Nigerian journalist, deputy editor, and head of the Politics desk at The Sun Newspapers. He holds two Master’s degrees in International Affairs and Strategic Studies, and Communication and Media Studies. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Communication and Media Studies and is an associate member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

His notable roles include serving as Chief Press Secretary to former Osun State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu, Media Consultant to the Senate Committee on Constitution Review (2011-2015), and Honourary Media Consultant to former Borno State Governor, Senator Kashim Shettima (2011-2019).

Omipidan is also a panelist on TVC’s popular current affairs programme, Journalists’ Hangout. “Persona Non Grata” is his first published book.
